Mid century modern jewelery
The period known as the Mid-Century went from around 1950-1965. The years following World War II were a welcome re-visitation of success and prompted an interest in rich adornments to coordinate the inexorably ladylike styles of the time. In the time when men wore organized, dull shaded suits customized flawlessly, lovely ladies were adorned in nipped-midriff suits, swing shrouds, a-line skirts, and challenging décolletage. The design of Mid-Century modern jewelery changed too from the manly, military styles of the '40s to a more rich, female look. Adornments planners started making staggering desserts of shimmering jewels, or intense, present-day looks with gemstones. The straight styles of the earlier decade offered an approach to well-proportioned bends, as in the pearls so famous in that period, or unconventional depictions of animals, blossoms, branches, and plants.
